Marketing Problem

The marketing issue that will be analyzed in the due course of this report is the lack of awareness of the carbon market on the part of the Xpand Foundation’s Withonseed Project.

Personal Pre-conceived Bias

From prior research it has been determined that existing farmers, who are a part of the concerned project is critically aware of the destructions that is caused by the erosion of soil, damage of crops and the decreasing access to water. However, there is a need to educate these farmers to prepare enhanced strategies for managing the lands.

  • Linking the Carbon Market- Through relevant research it has been determined that the carbon market is extensively governed and is different in terms of its objectives, framework, execution as well as norms and principles all over the world (Keohane et al. 2017). Hence, in this context it is important for the Xpand Foundation to create a perspective that will be able to connect these components, moreover they should be able to create a link with the diversified as well as the contrasting market of carbon. Furthermore, the connection should not be made by means of making them equal, instead they should be made by identifying the gap between them and allocating a value to them. This is significant in terms of planning an affordable price of carbon over different countries in this world. This in turn will help in increasing the knowledge about the carbon market of the organization.
  • Introduction of the Carbon Footprint- The concerned organization should take an initiative to introduce the concept of Carbon Footprint on the part of their commodities. This will make them aware that which part of the stages in the product life cycle of the company will pose a serious threat in case of the emission of the green house gases, like that of the carbon dioxide. Having appropriate knowledge in this context (Malmodin et al. 2018), will enable the organization to prepare their strategies accordingly according to the requirements of the carbon market.
  • Customers behaviour towards Carbon-labelled products- It has also been determined that the Xpand Foundation should take an initiative to determine the attitude of their customers in terms of products tagged with carbon foot-print (Huddart et al. 2015). Moreover, it also clear that those customers who shows positive attitude towards carbon footprint tagged product are depicted to be environment friendly and this can be used as significant marketing technique for the concerned organization.
  • Complete perspective for reducing carbon dioxide emission- In this context, it has been determined that different nation-based and global initiatives have been taken to minimize the emission rate of carbon-dioxide but they failed in their efforts (Meylan et al. 2015). Hence, it is significant for the Xpand Foundation to have proper knowledge on developing environment-friendly strategies and contribute towards offering sustainable service to the market.
  • Increasing the participation of the farmers- In this context it has been determined that in order to improve the engagement of the farmers, it is important to educate the farmers in terms of understanding the importance of managing the emission of the green house gas, which is where the concerned organization is required to improve (Kragt et al. 2017).
  • Creating way for low carbon providence- As per the SMART 2020 report, it has been determined that scientists and law makers has an objective of reducing the green house gas emission rate by minimum 20% by the year 2020 to pave for an effective economy (Moreno et al. 2017).
  • As per the voluntary carbon project it has been determined that there are 87 projects that has considered transforming their agricultural activities with an attempt to minimize the emission of carbon dioxide gas (Hamrick et al. 2015). Hence, the Xpand Foundation in its Withonseed project can even take an initiative to minimize the use of artificial fertilizers in their agricultural activities.
  • Furthermore, even the European Union and Australia had taken an initiative to connect their carbon release business system, however, Australia appealed again in the year 2014, due to which the country couldn’t continue with their efforts (Stiglitz et al. 2017).
  • Additionally, the emission of carbon dioxide is contributing to a great extent to pollute the environment, however steps can be taken to minimize it and, in this context (Chai et al. 2015), the concerned organization should also educate their farmers to work toward carbon dioxide reduction in their activities.

Conclusion on Xpand Foundation Analysis

Hence, if the Xpand Foundation takes proper initiatives as discussed in this report they will be able to enhance the level of their farmers on strategies that will minimize the emission of carbon.
